This document sets out the general terms and conditions of car rental services provided by RentCarGeneva.ch. By making a reservation on our website, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and accepted all the clauses outlined below.
Booking a car is simple and fast online through our website. No advance payment and no credit card are required to secure your reservation. The process consists of selecting the rental period, choosing the preferred vehicle, and filling in basic personal details.
At the end of the process, you will receive an automatic confirmation email. Our team will then verify your request, and within 24 hours you will receive a firm confirmation of your booking.
If the requested vehicle model is not available, RentCarGeneva.ch guarantees to provide a similar car from the same category or higher, at no additional cost.
To rent a vehicle, the customer must present the following documents upon pick-up at Geneva Airport or at the agreed delivery point:
Valid driving license (Category B) obtained at least 12 months prior to the rental date
Valid passport or national ID card covering the entire rental period
International Driving Permit (IDP), if the license is not issued in Latin script (e.g., Cyrillic, Arabic, Chinese)
The minimum age required to rent a vehicle from RentCarGeneva.ch is 23 years old, with at least one year of driving experience.
For premium or luxury categories, additional requirements may apply.
Reservations are made online, without prepayment.
Payment is made upon pick-up, in cash, by debit card, or through other locally accepted methods.
Security deposit (cautionary deposit): A refundable deposit is required at the time of pick-up. The amount ranges between €350 and €1200, depending on the vehicle category. This deposit is released after the car is returned in the same condition as it was delivered.
The rental period is agreed upon at the time of booking and specified in the contract signed at pick-up.
Extensions must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled return time.
Delays in returning the vehicle may result in additional charges, calculated per extra rental day.
The standard policy at RentCarGeneva.ch is “full to full.”
The vehicle is provided with a full tank of fuel and must be returned the same way.
If not, the missing fuel will be charged, plus an administrative fee.
All vehicles are provided with basic insurance (third-party liability) included in the price.
Customers may also select optional insurance packages at the time of booking:
CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) – reduces liability in case of accident
TP (Theft Protection) – covers theft or vandalism
Super CDW / Full Coverage – extended coverage, reducing customer responsibility to a minimum
Insurance options are displayed transparently during the online booking process.
The driver must comply with all Swiss traffic laws, including:
Speed limits: 50 km/h in urban areas, 80 km/h on rural roads, 120 km/h on highways
Winter equipment: during the cold season, all cars are fitted with winter tires; snow chains are available on request
Seat belts: mandatory for all passengers
Alcohol limit: maximum blood alcohol content of 0.05%
The customer is fully responsible for any fines or penalties received during the rental period.
Driving outside Switzerland is permitted only with prior written authorization from the company.
Generally, travel is allowed to France, Italy, Germany, and Austria.
Without such authorization, insurance is not valid outside Switzerland, and the customer assumes full responsibility for any incidents.
In rare cases, the exact model requested may not be available. In this situation, RentCarGeneva.ch undertakes to provide a vehicle of the same category or higher, at the same price.
The customer must keep the vehicle in good condition during the rental period and return it as received.
Driving by unauthorized persons (not listed in the contract) is strictly forbidden.
Damages caused by negligence, misuse, or driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs are not covered by insurance.
RentCarGeneva.ch provides 24/7 roadside assistance. In case of accident, technical failure, or any issue during your rental, please call the emergency number provided in your contract.
We will send technical support, provide a replacement vehicle, or arrange another suitable solution to continue your trip safely.
